Our self-catering apartment has been converted from the area above the old stable block and is ideal for a couple who prefer to have independent accommodation.

The Villa des Prés was an important house in the area and couldn’t have managed without a building to house the horses together with their carriages and grooms.

This apartment was converted from the area above the old stables. The building was used as a postal “stage” until 1910 and this is where the horses were changed and the driver found board and lodging.

The apartment still retains a rustic feel and has the original Burgundian floor tiles. It is spacious and extremely comfortable.

Double glazing adds to the total peace and quiet you can only really find in the countryside but if you want to hear the hoot of the barn owl or simply listen to the sounds of the night, all you have to do is open the windows.

Clean air!

The air is pure and healthy because the woods are not far away and there is no industry. Depending on the season the air is filled with the subtle scent of violets, lilies, wisteria, elders and lime trees…

The saddle room

The front door on the ground floor gives access to the old saddle room where the horses tack was stored in the last century.

Now this area is useful for storing walking equipment, bicycles etc. An oak staircase leads up to the apartment.

The Livingroom

From this room you have a beautiful view across the open countryside to the peaks of the Morvan and with binoculars you can watch the deer peacefully grazing in the nearby woods. Relax and listen to music, watch television, sit by the open fire and read a book – you will be tempted to linger in this room.

A corner of paradise

The Garden

The garden is a corner of paradise with a lively mixture of plants and animals. There is garden furniture and a barbecue made from old stone which is reserved for your private use. You can enjoy al fresco lunches accompanied by a pastoral symphony from the lambs in the field next door!
